Weaning starts with the apple

Weaning is a very delicate moment in the life of a newborn and also very exciting, especially for new parents, who live this moment with great anxiety.

But when does the weaning start?

Usually starting from the 6th month, because the mother's milk can no longer satisfy as before the nutritional needs of our puppy, which has, in fact, the need to be weaned. The Ministry of Health recommends that one of the first foods to be used for weaning is grated or pureed fruit, especially apples, which are able to protect the digestive system of the child and have a calming effect. The apple is, in fact, a perfect fruit for its nutritional principles: it is genuine, with a sweet and delicate taste, easy to assimilate, light and above all it is present every month of the year.

The importance of the apple

There are many mothers who choose the apple to start weaning their baby. The apple is made from 85% water, so it's perfect for moisturizing your baby. It also contains mineral salts (sodium, potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and zinc), fibre, easily digestible sugars, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, E and C, citric acid, malic acid, niacin (vitamin B3) and folic acid (vitamin B9), flavonoids and carotenoids.

The apple, then, is much appreciated by children normally for its sweet and fresh taste. Whether grated or cooked and pureed, its texture is perfect for weaning! But which apple to choose? Always choose an Italian product, such as "Marlene", the undisputed symbol of excellent fruit from South Tyrol.
